Air Force Reservists get second look at 'war wagon'

Seeing a gun-truck similar to the ones they operated while conducting convoy duty in Southwest Asia in 2004 brought forth mixed emotions for (from left) Staff Sgt. John Traum and Tech. Sgts. Steven Smith and Cynthia Blais. The 908th Airlift Wing Logistics Readiness Squadron Transporation Flight Air Force Reservists stand in the gun turret where a 50-caliber machine gun would be mounted on the gun truck. The trio and two other Transportation Flight members spent eight months deployed overseas supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. The gun truck, stripped of parts that can be used as spares, sits idle in the transportation yard at Maxwell AFB awaiting completion of plans to haul the vehicle cross-town to its intended new home, the Enlisted Heritage Hall at Gunter Annex.
