New 908th Maintenance Squadron commander, Lt. Col. Jason Haynes, recently took the wheel in a change of command ceremony here.

Outgoing commander Maj. Daniel Posch has departed for a new squadron command at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo.

Lieutenant Colonel Joe Friday, 908th Maintenance Group commander said Haines couldn't have been a better selection as the new commander.

"He has 26 years of active duty and Reserve Air Force, both enlisted and as an officer," Friday said immediately following the change of command ceremony. "He will take the squadron and continue to do great things."

About the 908th, Haynes said he was fired up inside to be a part of the organization. He explained one of his mottos is, "never take for granted an opportunity in hand."

He then addressed the Airmen of his new squadron by saying, "I will not take for granted this position where I am at today, that opportunity to be a part of you and lead you."

Haynes closed up the ceremony with this statement for the wing, "We will always provide safe, reliable aircraft to our flight crews because that is our mission and we will not bend from that."
