As COVID-19, commonly known as the coronavirus, spreads, the 42nd Medical Group is working closely with local hospitals to ensure plans are executed in unison if a coronavirus case is detected.

Symptoms of the coronavirus are a fever, cough and difficulty with breathing. The key is to seek medical treatment early.

Although there are no known or expected threats or cases of the coronavirus in Alabama  basic hygiene is a good start to help prevent the spread of germs and to ensure you and your loved ones are protected. The World Health Organization recommends the following steps to help prevent the virus;

  • Wash your hands frequently
  • Maintain a social distance
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth
  • Practice respiratory hygiene.

“The health of all Airmen and their families remains our top priority,” said Col. Jeanette Frantal, commander of the 42 MDG. “The 42 MDG will closely follow the CDC guidance and we are available to advise members when concerns arise.”
